Clery Act

The Clery Act at Collin College

What is the Clery Act?

The Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act, 20 U.S.C. § 1092(f) (Clery Act) is a federal law which requires all colleges and universities that receive federal funding to disclose information about crimes that occur on and near their campuses. Additionally, the Clery Act requires colleges and universities to publish an Annual Security Report (ASR) informing their communities of campus safety policies and procedures, crime prevention efforts, and campus crime statistics. Colleges and universities that have on-campus student housing are also required to publish an Annual Fire Safety Report (AFSR) informing their communities of fire safety policies and procedures and fire statistics.

Collin College does not currently employ any pastoral counselors. Collin College's licensed professional counselors are informed of the procedures to report crimes during various training sessions throughout each academic calendar year.
